Facility Maintenance
Facility Maintenance Supplies & Industrial Essentials
Keeping an industrial facility operating safely requires a broad range of consumables, tools, and compliance-driven equipment beyond standard PPE. This category covers the everyday maintenance and housekeeping products that keep operations running — from OSHA-compliant flammable liquid storage to floor marking, spill control, and facility power supply. All products are stocked for fast shipping to manufacturing plants, utilities, construction sites, and maintenance departments.
Products in this category are organized across three subcategories, plus standalone items:
- Layout & Markings — floor and surface marking products including:
- Floor Marking Tape — vinyl and polyester floor tape for 5S lean marking, aisle delineation, hazard zones, and equipment boundaries. Available in standard and glow-in-the-dark formulations.
- Layout Paint & Marking Spray — inverted marking paint for ground layout, utility marking, and job site layout.
- Industrial Markers — paint markers, lumber crayons, and soapstone for metal, pipe, and structural marking.
- Cutting Tools — utility knives and blades for packaging, tape, and material cutting in maintenance applications.
- Sorbents — universal, oil-only, and hazmat sorbent pads, rolls, pillows, and socks for spill control and cleanup on oils, coolants, solvents, and unknown liquids. OSHA 29 CFR 1910.141 requires spill control measures in facilities where hazardous liquids are used or stored.
- Storage — facility storage solutions including flammable storage cabinets and utility caddies for organizing and securing maintenance consumables.
Safety Cans (Justrite AccuFlow) — Type I and Type II steel safety cans for gasoline, diesel, and flammable liquids in 1, 2, 2.5, and 5 gallon capacities. All meet OSHA 29 CFR 1910.106 and NFPA 30 requirements for flammable liquid storage. FM-, UL/ULC-, and TÜV-approved. Type II cans include a 5/8" or 1" AccuFlow metal hose with Safe-Squeeze® trigger for controlled dispensing and stainless steel flame arrester to prevent flashback ignition.
Extension Cords (Conntek) — 12/3 SJTW and SJEOW all-weather outdoor extension cords in 25', 50', and 100' lengths. Remain flexible at temperatures as low as -50°F; suitable for outdoor use in construction, utility, and industrial maintenance environments. Power indicator light on connector. 300V rated.

Facility Maintenance Supplies — Frequently Asked Questions
Both types are OSHA 1910.106 and NFPA 30 compliant steel safety cans for flammable and combustible liquids, with self-closing lids and automatic pressure-relief venting. The distinction is in how liquid is dispensed:
- Type I safety cans have a single opening for both filling and pouring. They include a funnel for controlled filling and a self-closing, leak-proof lid. Better for storing flammables where precise dispensing is not required.
- Type II safety cans (Justrite AccuFlow) have a separate fill opening and a flexible metal hose with a manual trigger for controlled, directed dispensing into equipment. A stainless steel flame arrester in the nozzle prevents flashback ignition. Preferred for dispensing gasoline or diesel directly into machinery, generators, or vehicles.
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.106 governs the storage and handling of flammable and combustible liquids in general industry workplaces. It requires that flammable liquids in quantities greater than one gallon be stored in listed safety cans (FM, UL, or equivalent listing) rather than original containers. The standard also limits the total quantity of flammable liquids that can be stored outside of a flammable storage cabinet (typically 25 gallons of Category 1 flammables or 120 gallons total of Categories 1–4 combined, per fire area).
All Justrite AccuFlow safety cans in this category are FM-approved, UL/ULC-listed, and TÜV-certified, satisfying OSHA 1910.106 and NFPA 30 requirements. Color coding follows the standard: red for gasoline and flammables, yellow for diesel.
Both are outdoor-rated 12-gauge, 3-conductor extension cords, but the jacket materials differ in cold-temperature performance:
- SJTW — thermoplastic, water-resistant jacket. Suitable for outdoor use in temperate conditions, but the jacket can stiffen in cold weather. The Conntek SJTW 25' cord is rated for general outdoor contractor use.
- SJEOW — thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) jacket. Remains flexible to -50°F, making it the correct choice for cold-climate outdoor work, construction in winter conditions, and refrigerated or freezer environments. The Conntek SJEOW 50' and 100' cords are available for longer runs.
For work in temperatures below freezing, always select SJEOW. A stiff cord in cold weather is a trip and entanglement hazard.
Sorbents are classified by the liquid types they are designed to absorb:
- Universal sorbents (gray) — absorb oils, coolants, solvents, and water-based liquids. The most versatile option for general facility maintenance and mixed-liquid spills.
- Oil-only sorbents (white) — hydrophobic; repel water and absorb only hydrocarbons. Used for oil and fuel spills on water (outdoor sumps, stormwater areas) or in environments where water must be excluded from the absorbed material for disposal purposes.
- Hazmat sorbents (yellow) — designed for aggressive chemicals, acids, bases, and unknown liquids. Chemical-resistant construction allows use with corrosives that would degrade standard sorbents.

OSHA 29 CFR 1910.22(b) requires that permanent aisles and passageways be appropriately marked, but does not specify the marking method or color. The most common compliance method is adhesive floor marking tape applied in a contrasting color to the floor surface. Key specifications to look for:
- Durability: industrial floor tape for heavy forklift and foot traffic should be polyester-backed or vinyl with a minimum 4–6 mil thickness and aggressive pressure-sensitive adhesive.
- Color: ANSI/ASSP Z535.5 and common 5S practice use yellow for general aisles and traffic areas; red for danger areas or prohibited zones; white for equipment and product storage; orange for caution/work-in-progress areas; green for first aid and safety equipment locations.
- Cleanliness: tape should be applied to a clean, dry floor surface and can be applied with a tape applicator tool for consistent straight lines.
See the Tape subcategory for available floor tape options.
